1. Who we are
Kluarga is a family organizer for Indonesian families: a shared calendar, to-do and chores, meal plans and shopping lists, a health log and medicine cabinet, and shared expenses. It runs in your browser and installs to your home screen.
Kluarga is built and run from Indonesia. During the beta it is operated directly by its maker rather than by a company, and you can reach a real person at support@kluarga.my.id. This policy explains what Kluarga does with your family’s information, in plain language. Where it says “we”, it means the people who build Kluarga. Where it says “you”, it means you and the people in your household.
This policy applies to the Kluarga app and to this website.
2. What we collect
We collect only what the app needs to work. There is no advertising, no tracking across other sites, and no profile built about you.
Your account. When you sign up we store your email address and your display name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google — nothing else, and never your Google password or anything else in your Google account.
What you put into Kluarga. Everything your household creates: events, tasks and chores, recipes, meal plans, shopping lists, health entries, medicines and doses, doctor visits, expenses and budgets, conversation card settings, family member names and photos, and any files you attach.
Your devices, for notifications. If you turn on notifications, your browser gives us a push address for that device, two encryption keys that belong to it, and the browser’s user-agent string so you can tell your phones apart in Settings. Turning notifications off removes it.
Feedback you send us. The message you write, the screen you were on, the app version, and a screenshot if you attach one.
Which screens get opened. The app records that a screen was opened, as a pattern only — /health/:id, never the actual entry. We use this to see which parts of the app are used during the beta. It contains no content and is never shown to anyone in your household, including your partner. The database refuses to store anything that looks like an identifier.
Technical records. Our hosting and database providers keep short-lived server logs containing IP addresses and request times, as any web service does, to keep the service running and to stop abuse.
No cookies for tracking. This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics. The app keeps your login session in your browser’s own storage so you stay signed in; that stays on your device.
3. Health data
Health information is the most sensitive thing in Kluarga, so it is treated differently from everything else.
Every health entry — a fever episode, temperature readings, a medicine and its doses, a doctor’s visit, a photo of a prescription — carries a visibility you choose when you create it:
- Only me — nobody else in your household can see it, including your partner.
- Parents — parents in your household can see it.
- Everyone — anyone in your household can see it.
These rules are enforced in the database, not in the screens. A rule that only hides something in the interface is not a rule. Kluarga’s database refuses to return an entry to a person who should not see it, so there is no version of the app, and no mistake in the app, that could show your partner something you marked “Only me”. The same check is applied to files you attach, to live updates sent to other devices, and to any export.
Kluarga records what your family enters or what a doctor has prescribed. It never suggests a dose, a medicine or a diagnosis, and it is not a medical device. See section 4 of our Terms & Conditions.
We do not use health information for anything except showing it to the people you chose. It is never used to improve a product, train a model, or inform anything outside your own household.
4. Children’s profiles
Children in Kluarga do not have accounts, and children do not use Kluarga. A child is a profile inside your household — a name, a colour, a birthday — created and managed by their parents. A child cannot sign in, and there is no login for a child to be given.
Information about a child is entered by a parent, and is visible to the household under the same rules as everything else, including the health visibility settings above. Parents control it entirely: they can change it, export it, or ask us to delete it.
Because Kluarga is used by parents on behalf of their children, we do not knowingly create accounts for anyone under 18. If you believe a child has created their own account, email us and we will remove it.
5. How we use your data
We use your information to:
- run the app — show your household its calendar, lists, health log and expenses, and keep both phones in sync;
- send the notifications you asked for, such as a medicine dose reminder or a daily digest;
- keep your account secure and stop abuse;
- fix problems you report, and understand which parts of the app are used during the beta;
- reply when you email us.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it to build advertising profiles, and we do not use your content to train machine-learning models.
The legal bases we rely on are the agreement between us (you asked us to run this service for you), your consent where you gave it (notifications, and the health visibility you choose), and our legitimate interest in keeping the service working and secure.
6. Who can see your data
Your household sees what the rules above allow: health entries by their visibility; money and conversation cards for parents only; calendar, to-do and kitchen for everyone in the household. Intimacy conversation cards stay hidden unless every parent in the household has turned them on.
We cannot read what you write. No one on the Kluarga side reads your health entries, your notes, your expenses or your messages to each other. What we can see is counts — how many households are active, how many screens were opened — never the content of an entry.
Two honest exceptions. If you send us feedback or email support, we read what you chose to send us, because you sent it to us. And if we are ever legally required to hand over data by a valid Indonesian legal order, we will comply — and we will tell you unless the law forbids it.
Companies that process data for us, under contract, only to provide the service:
| Who | What they do | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, sign-in, file storage, notifications infrastructure | Singapore |
| Vercel | Hosting for the app and this website | Global edge network |
| Sign-in with Google, if you choose it | Global | |
| Browser push services (Google, Apple, Mozilla, Microsoft) | Deliver notifications to your device | Global |
Push services are worth one more sentence: a notification’s contents are encrypted before they leave our server and can only be decrypted by your own device. The push service can see that a message is on its way to a device, but not what it says.
7. Where your data is stored
Your data lives in a Postgres database hosted by Supabase in Singapore, the closest region to Indonesia. Files you attach are stored in the same region.
Everything is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and encrypted at rest on disk. Access to the production database is limited to the people who build Kluarga, protected by multi-factor authentication, and used for operating the service — not for reading your entries.
Some of the companies listed above operate globally, so some technical data (such as the request that loads a page) may be handled outside Indonesia. Your household’s actual content stays in Singapore.
8. How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as your account exists, because the whole point is that last year’s calendar and last month’s expenses are still there.
Specifically:
- Household content — kept until you delete it or delete your account.
- Deleted items — marked deleted straight away and hidden from the app, then removed permanently within 30 days.
- Screen-open records — kept for 12 months, then deleted.
- Feedback — kept while we are still acting on it, and at most 24 months.
- Push device records — removed when you turn notifications off, or when the push service tells us the device is gone.
- Server logs — kept by our providers for a short period, typically days.
9. Your rights
Indonesia’s Personal Data Protection Law (UU No. 27 of 2022) gives you rights over your personal data, and we will honour them wherever you live. You can:
- know what we hold about you and why — that is what this page is for;
- get a copy of your data, in a format you can take elsewhere;
- correct anything that is wrong, directly in the app;
- delete your data, or ask us to;
- withdraw consent you gave — turn off notifications, change a health entry’s visibility, turn off intimacy cards;
- object to how we use your data, and complain to the Indonesian data protection authority if we get it wrong.
We will not charge you for any of this, and we will not make the app worse for you because you asked.
One limit worth stating plainly: your household’s shared content belongs to the household. If you delete your account, the events, lists and expenses your household created stay with the household for the other parent. Anything that is yours alone — including health entries you marked “Only me” — goes with you.
10. Exporting and deleting
Export, any time, by yourself. In the app, open More → Download my data. You get a single JSON file containing exactly what your account can see: your household, calendar, to-do, kitchen, health, and money. Anything another parent has kept to themselves is not in it, because it is not yours to export.
Deletion. During the beta there is no delete button in the app yet, so deletion is by email: write to support@kluarga.my.id from the address on the account and say what you want removed. We will confirm, delete it within 30 days, and tell you when it is done. We would rather say this plainly than put a button on this page that does not exist yet.
If you are the only parent in your household, deleting your account deletes the household with it.
11. Changes to this policy
When this policy changes we update the date at the top of this page. If the change is significant — new data collected, a new company processing it, a new purpose — we will tell you in the app before it takes effect, and ask again for consent where consent is what we relied on.
We will not quietly start doing something this page says we do not do.
